Call to Action
Big things are afoot with your ability to get
your own sales data. SourceInterlink, the
largest conglomerate of direct and wholesale
distribution, wants to charge you for POS data,
data that can help you to increase your sales.
Contact your National Distributor to find out
how they are handling this change. |
Focus Feature: Dollars and Sense – USPS
Announces New Rates
The USPS has approved an increase in the price of a First-Class stamp to 41 cents and
approved shape-based pricing for First-Class
Mail, among other increases. Mark May 14th
on your calendar for all new rates and fees
except Periodicals. For a rundown on the new
rates effective May 14, 2007 check out this
USPS link.
Periodicals pricing is scheduled to go
into effect on July 15, 2007. The Board of
Governors has approved an 11.7% increase for
out-of-county periodicals and an 18.3%
increase for in-county periodicals. Depending
on your regional mix this can have a significant
impact on your publication.
OUR ADVICE: Speak with your
magazine printer now to get an analysis of
what the rate increases will mean for you, to
find out what things you may be able to do
differently, and what your printer is doing to
minimize the impact. Of course, there’s still
quite a bit of contention about the rate case
and there’s always a chance things may
change. We’ll keep you abreast of any
revisions to the proposed rates.
More questions? Drop us an email or check out
the FAQ page on the USPS site.
